Church Family Life
Making Connections
On an average Sunday we have over 600 people worshipping at Bath City Church, so it can be easy to get a little lost. It’s sad when we find people who have sat in the auditorium for weeks without anyone saying “Hello” because that’s just not God’s heart. We were never designed to be alone or to go through issues on our own. One of our values is to make sure that everyone who wants to belong, really feels like they do. We understand that sometimes having space is really important, but we want everyone to feel that they have a home here, somewhere you can be yourself without any pretence.
If you’re a new member our Belong Team, headed by Rosie Sherwin, is here to help you find your way into church life. We know that being in a large crowd can feel a bit daunting so we try our best to help folk connect with others and to connect up someone’s individual skills and talents with areas of serving. We can also discuss and introduce you into the various Discipleship and Community Groups we have throughout Bath and the surrounding area. For details contact Rosie@bathcitychurch.org.uk.
Pastoral Support
We’re here to help, and we’ll always try and do exactly that in whatever way we can. Sometimes it can be difficult for someone to know which way to turn for that help, in a big church like BCC there are so many ministries and possibilities, offering everything from lunch to inner healing, when maybe all you really want is a sympathetic ear and to know that someone cares. All we’d ask is that you let us know what’s on your mind and on your heart, and that you let us help you find what you need.
Social Life
Never let it be said that we don’t know how to party at BCC! We hold a number of really enjoyable family type social events throughout the year including our own “BCC’s Got Talent” a not-too-seriously contested competition in which our home grown stars of song, stage and things in-between vie to win the audience’s votes, usually held in early December to lighten the winter dark.
Also in December we hold our evening of Christmas Carols…we don’t call it a Carol Service because it’s not that formal, it’s more an opportunity for us to invite the Bath community at large to join us in honouring and worshipping Jesus in a way that’s joyful and fun, mixing traditional songs and carols with that special BCC something!
Then, during the summer we hold our annual Fun Day, risking the weather to enjoy an afternoon of sunshine, picnics, chat and general lazing about, with a few games thrown in for good measure, and there are other events throughout the year, all of which are not only fun, but help us to grow as family.
Events are always advertised on this website, and in the weekly “This Week” hand-out. |
